Account & Data Deletion
Paper Plane takes your privacy seriously. Under GDPR Art. 17 (right to erasure / "right to be forgotten") and Turkey's KVKK Art. 7, you can request deletion of your personal data. This page explains what data we keep and how to delete it.
1 What Data We Keep
Paper Plane may store data in two places:
a) On your device (local)
- Your high score
- Unlocked planes
- Sound on/off preference
- Number of games played
This data is only on your device; we do not have a copy on our servers.
b) On our servers (Firebase)
- Anonymous Firebase UID (random, does not identify you as a person)
- Your nickname — if you joined the leaderboard
- Your score record — in the global and weekly leaderboards
Google Analytics and AdMob also keep anonymised usage and ad data that does not directly identify you.
2 Deleting Local Device Data
You have two options to clear all local data on your device:
Option A — Clear app data
Android: Settings → Apps → Paper Plane → Storage → Clear data
This resets your high score, unlocked planes and all other local settings. The app will look like a fresh install.
Option B — Uninstall the app
Long-press the app icon → Uninstall. All local data is removed.
3 Deleting Server Data
To delete your leaderboard record, nickname and anonymous UID from our servers, just write to us. We process the request free of charge within 30 days.
Step 1 — Find your anonymous UID (optional)
If you have multiple devices or want to delete only one account, providing the UID speeds things up:
- Open the app
- Go to Leaderboard → Ranking screen
- Tap the pencil icon next to your nickname and note any "Show my ID" option
- If you can't find it, no problem — we can locate you with your nickname and approximate score
Step 2 — Send the email
Copy the template below and send it to abdulkadir.kilic@ownerclick.com:
Step 3 — Confirmation
We send a confirmation email once deletion is complete. The process usually takes 1–7 days, no later than 30 days.
4 What is NOT Deleted
Some data cannot be deleted immediately due to legal obligations or technical reasons:
- Backups: Removal from Firebase automated backups can take up to 30 days.
- Anonymous, aggregate analytics: Stats like "X games played in total" that do not identify you remain.
- Crash logs: Kept up to 90 days for legal record-keeping.
- Legal obligations: Data required to comply with court orders or legal requests.
5 What Happens After Deletion
- Your nickname is removed from global and weekly leaderboards.
- The next time you open the app a new anonymous session is created (new UID).
- Local device data is unaffected (unless you also do Option A or B).
- Your unlocked planes remain on the device, but you'll restart from scratch on the global leaderboard.
6 Other Rights
Instead of deletion you may want to view or correct your data. Under GDPR you have the following rights:
- Access your data
- Correct inaccurate data
- Restrict processing
- Data portability — move your data to another service
- Object to automated decisions
You can exercise these rights from the same email address.
